Members of the UK’s largest trade body representing painters and decorators have saved more than £60,000 through use of the Markel Business Hub.
The Painting and Decorating Association (PDA) offers access to the hub as part of its member benefit package, alongside Markel’s 24-hour legal helpline and group insurance cover.
Together, the three benefits save thousands of pounds for PDA members annually.
Latest figures show documents downloaded from the Business Hub doubled in the second quarter of 2025. And in the first half of this year, members utilising the hub made a collective saving of £60,550.

Neil Ogilvie, PDA Chief Executive, said:
“The Markel Business Hub is a really valuable resource for members, offering them downloadable documents that help with the smooth running of their business and save money.
“Information on employment, contracts and health and safety are the top areas of interest for our members and these also come up as regular inquiries from members calling the legal hotline, along with property and probate.
“For more than 130 years, the PDA has acted as a collective voice of the trade and formed key partnerships across the industry designed to support our members and offer them a range of products and services that benefit their businesses.”
The 24-hour year-round legal helpline has provided a wide range of advice to PDA members in the first half of the year, offering support on topics including civil procedures and commercial contracts, debt collection, intellectual property, holiday queries and insurance.
Markel also provides group insurance cover for PDA members. While the PDA’s conciliation service is available to support members faced with a non-paying client, the assistance of legal cover can fund legal costs in the event of a contractual dispute to ensure a fair outcome is achieved.
